In the north of Israel there's a 5th-century (~1,600 years ago) synagogue built with a very intersting mosiac.
The art is a mixture of cultures and it's not the highest quality.
You'll notice the faces are not very accurate and some of the animals don't look anything like they should.
You can see Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
No one is sure why the quality is so poor.
